1. Do you have a physical shop I can visit?

Yes, we do! We have one shop located in Avondale, Auckland. Address: 80 Lansford Crescent. Avondale, Auckland.

2. If I was choosing between two sizes, is it better to go bigger or go smaller?

It is definitely better to go bigger when choosing between two sizes. It is a safer option just in case the hat shrinks, plus we can always give you a set of resizing pads! Resizing pads are easily attached under the band inside your hat to make it smaller.

3. How long does shipping take?

The standard delivery time for orders is 1 - 2 business days within the North Island, and 2 - 4 business days for delivery to the South Island. Please allow an extra day for Rural Delivery addresses. Depending on stock levels, some orders are shipped from our store and some are shipped from our warehouses. Orders shipped from the warehouses are usually despatched the next day, so please allow an extra day for delivery. Please note that these delivery times are target times and are not guaranteed by couriers - delivery can sometimes take longer due to unforeseen factors (such as bad weather). If you require a product urgently, please don't leave it to the last minute to order!

4. How much does shipping cost?

Usually between $5 and $10, depending on city or rural delivery.

5. Do you ship internationally?

6. How do I track my order?

Once your order has been dispatched, you should receive texts right up until your order is delivered at your door. If you don't receive the texts, please email us at

We strongly encourage you to make your order online; it is more efficient and secure. But if our website is down or if you have difficulties when attempting to place an order online, we will be happy to take your order by phone.

8. Why didn’t I get an order confirmation email?

If you have just placed an order and have not received an email please check your spam mail! If it is not in your spam mail then it is likely that your payment didn’t go through, to find out you can send an email to or give us a call on 098200988.

Yes, you can! Just give us a quick call on 098200988, please make sure you have your order number ready and your credit card handy as we will process another transaction over the phone.

10. Are your hats made in NZ or are they imported?

We have a mix of both. In the factory, we make some of the cheese cutters, caps and bucket hats but the rest are imported from all over the world eg. China, America, Australia. Everything ordered under custom made is made in the factory (ceremonial and baggy cricket caps).

11. What are your business hours?

We are open from Monday - Friday 9 am-5.00 pm. As well as on Saturdays from 9.30 am - 12.30 pm. Our business hours during Christmas change every year, check under the category “Contact -> Contact” for our updates.

Yes you can! Just select the number you want when placing your order. Some products are listed under Wholesale, usually giving you a discount off every 10 units you buy (depending on the product). Unsure if the item you are ordering is wholesale? Each wholesale product advertised has details of the discount offered and the number of units you need to order to earn it.

13. Can I return or exchange my hat?

Instore: No returns, but you can exchange.

Online: We have a two week policy stated in our terms and conditions : Products ordered online may be returned or exchanged within 14 days of purchase for incorrect sizing, color or we have sent you the wrong style. By law, we are not obligated to exchange something because you simply don’t like it or changed your mind. A handling/re-stocking fee of 15% - 20%  + Shipping costs will apply on refunds. No refund on Shipping costs.

14. How do I take care of my hat?

This is general advice for all hats, some have specific practices which are listed on the products page. Do not leave your hat in the sun for long periods of time (eg. back of your car). For any hat that gets dusty or fluff on it, you can grab a bit of tape and wrap it around your fingers and dab it on and off the hat to get everything off. If your hat gets dirty or has marks on it, do not put it in the washing machine, it is best just to use a baby wipe. If there is a stain you may be able to use a detergent that is for soft materials. For hats that are made from a soft material, you can hand wash it in cold water.

15. How do I put in resizing pads?

Resizing bands are small foam bands that you can put on the inside of the band of your hat to reduce the size of your hat. To start off with, plan out where you are wanting to put them. Usually, we put one in the centre at the front then the other two spaced on each side in between where you put the first one and the very back of the hat. Then all that's left to do is peel the back off and stick them down under the band. If you stuff it up on the first go, you can take it off to readjust them. Once you get them in the right place you want to just push and compress them down a bit then your hat is ready to go! If you decide you don’t want them on then you can always take them off, they may leave a bit of residue but it will be under the band so it is hidden and won’t get caught in your hair.

16. Is there any way to stretch my hat?

Yes there is! If you are in Auckland, feel free to come in and get your hat stretched! We use heat through a metal head-shaped machine that is able to wind out to the size of XXXL. Once the machine has warmed up we put your hat on it and wind it out until it’s at a stretch that is just right for your hat. It takes between 10-15 minutes depending on the hat you have and only costs between $10-$15.

17. What is your largest sized hat?

Our largest size is XXXL. This size is only available in three hats:
Salt and Pepper Italian Cheese cutter -
Traditional Centre Crease Fedora (only available instore, email for enquiries) -
NZ Deer Nappa Leather Cheese cutter -
We have plenty of options in XXL for both ladies and men depending on which style you are after.

18. How do I know what size my head is?

Wrap a flexible tape measure from the middle of your forehead around the widest part of your head. Keep it flat against your head. Note the measurement in centimetres, then refer to our sizing chart (under "About" on our home page). In-store, you can of course simply try our sizes for your best fit.

19. Do you do repairs?

Yep, we do all kinds of repairs on hats such as: Replacing wires, sewing up holes, replacing eyelets, fixing snapbacks, replacing cords, etc. If you’re not sure if we would be able to repair your hat don’t hesitate to give us a call on 098200988 or bring the hat in and we can have a look at it!

20. Do you do embroidery?

We do embroidery on bulk orders. Our minimum is 10 so if you are looking for a one-off then we suggest going to a mall to get it done. Anything below 10 becomes a lot more expensive, the higher you go in units the cheaper it will become. Check out our photo gallery to see some examples! For enquiries please email us at

21. Is it ok to pack my hat in a bag/suitcase?

Only some hats that we have are packable. For example, we have a big range of Barmah Squashy and foldaway hats, there is also our Outback Oilskin Madison, as well as our cheese cutters, buckets and caps. All of these hats aren’t going to crease if they get slightly squashed. If you’re unsure it’s always better to be safe rather than sorry.
